Wotton Lawn Hospital
Barrier Install
Wotton Lawn Hospital is an 88 bed acute mental health hospital situated near the centre of Gloucester and provides inpatient services for the county of Gloucestershire. Service users are supported by a variety of healthcare workers including nurses, doctors and allied health professionals such as psychologists, art therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and sports exercise therapists.
Project Brief
ASGuk were instructed by Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust to replace an end of life automatic barrier with a new solution at the entrance to the visitor carpark at Wotton Lawn Hospital. The brief included removing the existing barrier, removing the existing barrier base before installing a new concrete base to facilitate a new automatic barrier solution.
Design & Specification
During the design process Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust identified a potential opportunity to relocated a FAAC Access Pro-L automated barrier from another of their hospitals which was surplus to requirements.
Following this conversation ASGuk completed an assessment of the existing FAAC Access Pro-L located at Tewkesbury Community Hospital. After a thorough review ASGuk were able to confirm that the automated barrier was in great condition and would be suitable for relocation to Wotton Lawn Hospital.

Installation & Delivery
The newly installed FAAC Access Pro-L automated barrier at Wotton Lawn Hospital has reinstated Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust’s ability to safely and effectively manage traffic in and out of the hospital’s visitor carpark. As a result the inconvenience and risks associated with unauthorised parking have been significantly reduced.
The new automated barrier seamlessly integrates with the existing CAME intercom allowing the reception team to effectively manage carpark from the convenience of their office.
